Write accurately
Learn to accurately compile and archive essential church documents, including minutes, reports, and agendas, while covering file management and ethical considerations like POPIA compliance.
WRITE ACCURATELY
This course focuses particularly on church writing, which plays an important role in the church in various forms. Church documents include a variety of types of texts that are commonly used in church and ministry contexts, both in local congregational settings and multiple church meetings.
The course places specific emphasis on the drafting of proclamations, parish letters, agendas, keeping and writing minutes of meetings, and compiling and writing church reports and registers.
Official church documents play an irreplaceable role in preserving the theological, administrative, and historical integrity of the Christian church. The course, therefore, also deals with the accurate compilation, writing, and archiving of church documents.
The importance of accurate documentary file management and effective archiving practices is covered, and will enable students to apply them.
Relevant ethical considerations are addressed, and core aspects of South African legislation relating to the protection of personal information, as spelled out in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), are also reviewed.
Who will benefit from this?
Ministers, scribes, administrative staff, in short, all people within church affiliation or in other contexts that have to do with communication.
You will learn:
