Your faith deserves more than Sunday summaries.
Whether you serve on the kerkraad (church council), lead a Bible study, teach catechism, or simply want to understand the confessions you recite on Sunday mornings, the gap between attending and understanding is real. RGTA exists to close it.

Is this for someone like me?
Is this only for ministers or ministerial candidates?
No. The academy was established specifically to make the same theology available to elders, deacons, catechists, parents, and any church member who wants to go deeper, not only to those pursuing ordination. 64 of the 72 students who enrolled in Year 1 were not ministerial candidates. If you want to understand your faith more fully, this is for you.
How much time does it actually take?
One two-hour evening session per week, plus 30 to 60 minutes of personal reading between sessions. Most students complete a course alongside full-time careers and congregation duties. If you lead a weekly Bible study, this is a comparable commitment, with seminary-level depth built in.
Is the online format academically serious?
Every RGTA course is Kuratorium-approved and taught by qualified lecturers, most from the Potchefstroom campus of the NWU. These are the same lecturers who train GKSA ministers. The online format makes it accessible. It does not make it abbreviated.
Not sure where to begin?
Serving as an elder or deacon
Start with Three Forms of Unity. It covers the confessions you uphold in your office.
New to Reformed theology
Start with Introduction to the NT or Coram Deo — accessible entry points with immediate relevance.
Teaching catechism or Sunday school
Start with Three Forms of Unity for doctrinal depth, or Hermeneutics for how to teach Scripture well.
