HERMENEUTICS: How Should You Interpret the Bible?

All Christian believers engage with the Bible, yet we derive different truths from it. This is because we read Scripture through various interpretive “lenses.” The central question this course seeks to answer is: How should the church of God faithfully interpret the Bible in a world that differs radically from the times in which the Bible originated?

This course offers an in-depth study of the principles underlying Reformed hermeneutics, as derived from Scripture and used in the formulation of the Reformed Confessions.

It equips students with the tools necessary to interpret the Biblical text with credibility, accuracy, and theological responsibility. Special emphasis is placed on the unity and coherence of Scripture, the Christocentric nature of salvation, and the Covenant through which God maintains His relationship with His church.
